To connect to the Go Kart chassis, you’ll likely have to deconstruct the Ninebot a little. This means the kneebar must be removed.

  • First, lay down the device
  • Next, pop off the front screw cover
  • Unscrew the two hex bolts (use the provided allen drivers to do this)
  • Insert the black, ‘U-shaped’ bracket removal tool right into the exposed holes
  • Place the 2 interlocking metal mold pieces together; loosely insert the nuts and screws
  • Clamp the whole piece over the handles’ exposed lower end (use the side bolts to do this)
  • Now, insert the long M6 screw into the front section (as you tighten the screw into the front, the kneebar will be pulled off the base unit)
  • On the front, open the power cable flap- insert the power extension cable
  • Rotate the locking ring- make it hand tight
  • Place the adapter pad onto the footplates (note the correct position)
  • Rotate and release the little dial on the removable black panel (at the nose of the scooter) until the battery panel is revealed
  • Insert the 6x AA batteries into the panel- note the polarity as you do so

The Segway Go Kart’s Unique Mechanical Handbrake

The mechanical handbrake feature actually sets the Segway NineBot apart from many traditional gokarts. The vehicle comes with a convenient handbrake that pairs with electronic foot brakes; this gives the driver a higher degree of control over the vehicle.

  • Lift the steering wheel, raking up the steering column
  • Insert the quick-release lever into a hole in the bracket (on the side of the wheel)
  • Now, to tighten it, rotate and crank it down

How to Mate the Go Kart & the NineBot Mini Together

  • Go to the rear part of the chassis and undo the velcro straps; lay them out
  • Pick the rear part of the chassis; roll the NineBot under it (just on top of the straps)
  • Next, drop the chassis onto the adapter pad
  • Loop up the Velcro straps right under the Ninebot unit; feed the straps up through the chassis slots
  • Leverage them over and secure them
  • Pull apart the scooter’s ends ( this releases it from its transport- collapsed position)
  • Tighten down the 2 bolts per side – Take care! While not connected to the chassis, the NineBot will power up and may drive off without you!
  • Next, go to the NineBot mini app
  • Go to “Settings Menu”
  • Change to “GoKart mode”
  • Now, power down the Ninebot and connect it to the GoKart
  • Use the backside power extension cord to turn it on

Important note: Henceforth, when changing the settings, you should connect to the Gokart’s Bluetooth (not the Ninebot Bluetooth).

“On the street, it gets TOUCHY once you hit max speed… I mean that small movements create large changes in your direction.”

“Well…drifting is ok. I like using it at shopping parking lots or open parking lots (just like parks and schools).  The open road is a bit iffy on comfort and traction/turns….”

Cons:

Length is definitely not so comfortable at 6ft plus; it’s more like 5-8 5-9 range and 175. Considering I’m 5’4″ and 160s… I’m saying it’s tight…it’s tight.”

The kart is definitely not meant for long uses. Yeah… I ride it hard at track speed and…. I get MAYBE a solid hour riding straight on a parking lot.”

I’ve run out of juice now… going 6 miles on track speed … well, I needed a ride home (1 1/2 miles away).”

Overall, for me I rate it 9/10 . It’s absolutely fun and everything you ever wanted as a kid. Have plenty of YouTube reviews and get great insights on exactly what to expect before dropping $2k…also, learn from this…. I dropped the $2k 5 days before it became $1800 🙄🙄🙄
